A Week Away: Main Characters

MAIN CHARACTERS

There’s a common saying at the Academy that you can’t spell ‘malice’ without 'Alice’. She’s privileged as fuck and doesn’t have a humble bone in her body. Speaking of, that is her highest skill. She’s a cheerleader, her aspiration is popularity and it’s beyond anyone with actual eyes how that has come to be when she has such a spoiled personality. Most chalk it up to her gorgeous looks.

The card reflects her real grade point average if she didn’t keep it propped up by suckers willing to do her homework for a little special attention behind supply closet doors. She is an awful student, can’t focus, and doesn’t care for homework when she could be doing more fun things.

She acts like a torpedo on interpersonal relationships, willing to manipulate and sabotage her way to endear herself to anyone who she wants to think better of her, trying to run away from the sad fact she is full of self-loathing and hopes that distracting herself will bury it deep down.

Alex is considered blunt, and brash, and while it doesn’t always seem so, he has a heart of gold. He is a family sim, he would do anything for his sisters, even if they annoy him sometimes. He doesn’t particularly like being at the Academy but because his mother insisted, he reluctantly agreed.

His highest skill is in body, which isn’t a surprise since he’s a very physical person. He loves to play sports and, most of all hit the skate park with his friends and show off.

He gets decent to good grades but is still considered a slacker amongst his peers who put in a lot of study hours and prep work to get ahead in life while he would rather coast through.

Ryder puts up with a lot. That’s kind of an understatement. His friends might call him a doormat for how easy it is to walk all over him. He’s a people-pleaser. He stepped up to help his mother handle raising his younger brothers, while his dad lost his job and his older brother moved out. He likes peace and the status quo, even at the expense of his own comfort.

The times he has to himself are cherished. He likes looking up at the sky and getting lost in the universe, asking deep questions. He wants to find someone similar-minded and easy to talk to.

He’s been looking, and has gone out on plenty of dates, which suit his romance aspirations and the closest he’s found so far is his friend Alex. He would give anything to repair the recent damage to their friendship but it seems like it’s too late.

Lai is a perfect student, she’s organized, studious, and driven to succeed. She has never had a tardy or detention at school. She could have been a shoo-in for the Academy but was too afraid to apply for an evaluation, thinking her family wasn’t good enough. She loves them but they can be a bit eccentric.

She is a knowledge sim, who thrives on learning new facts and spreading them like wildfire which sometimes can get her labeled as a 'know-it-all’. She wants to be a scientist someday!

Her highest skill is no doubt in logic. She can look at a problem and find the best solution almost immediately except when it comes to her true feelings and she overthinks every angle. An unbiased perspective is harder than it sounds to achieve when teenage hormones are involved.

Many don’t think of Caleb as much more than a typical nerd, but nerds have a little more prestige in a school where GPAs make or break you, and Caleb is on top in that respect. He boasts an impressive list of accolades and after-school activities, as well is the son of the Education Minister. It is no surprise he is a knowledge sim.

He is close to his family and loves his pet cat, who only sleeps in Caleb’s room despite his sister’s attempts to bribe 'Action Cat’ with morsels of food to sleep with her instead.

His leisure time is spent reading comics or hanging out with his childhood BFF.

He has considerable skill in charisma and logic which suits him for he’s on the student council and the debate team.

Colleen is a very sensitive, introverted individual. She loves to read and daydream, swim, and compose her own stories. Due to her very closed-off nature, she’s been the target of bullying her whole life. Her elder brother has always tried to look out for her in that respect, and she appreciates him so much.

She is often considered a 'shut-in’ or a 'princess’ because her family comes from money and her withdrawn nature makes it seem she’s just 'too good’ to associate with others which is so far from the truth!

She yearns to make connections and friendships but finds it very hard to feel comfortable with strangers to even begin the path toward something more familiar.

She is a knowledge sim, appropriate for her time and interest spent learning and reading. She does as well as her brother to maintain a perfect GPA at the Academy.

Noire has had a pretty tough life and it’s caused her to close herself off from most meaningful relationships. What’s the point of getting close to someone when at any moment life can change and they go away?

She trudges through school, just to keep her brother off her back. He wants better for her than the small one-room apartment they live in but Noire can hardly find any solace or peace from him and his longtime girlfriend.

She pines for a life she used to have, but maybe she was too young to remember how awful it was, mostly because her brother shielded her from realizing the truth about their family.

She finds small joys in writing and traveling, tinkering and finding out how things work, being away from people, and exploring new places. That could be anything from a new coffee shop to an abandoned old building in Memosa Bay.

She is a knowledge sim, with a growing skill in creative writing.

Can anyone break through and show her it’s still okay to show feelings or care?

April is a very low-key kind of person. She’s not necessarily shy, just withdrawn and not concerned about other people’s lives or problems, but is nice enough when she comes out of her shell and socializes.

She lives on a farm and helps maintain it, she doesn’t enjoy the work and wants to live in the city, and pursue a career in music. She has been teaching herself to play guitar, but doesn’t know how to break it to her (adopted) parents she has no intention of coming back in the summers after graduating to work on the farm, because she feels kind of guilty since they took her in and did a lot for her all her life.

She also falls behind in school work because she juggles farm work and an after-school job. She is a pleasure sim and relishes getting time to herself to do activities she actually looks forward to. Her highest skill is creativity, as she learns more and more how to play music and experiment with her own.

It’s a fact Angelo is the best skater of all his friends; he took to skating around main street Isla Del Kashmire on lonely evenings when his parents were working or holding secret meetings for local conspiracists.

Not to say he isn’t loved, but he was the product of an accident between two good friends in the throes of passion who didn’t plan to be parents in the first place.

Angelo has very little parental supervision, and his parents give him a lot of free reign, hence why he has five piercings at 15.

He craves companionship, which is why he is a romance sim. He has eyes on plenty of guys but has just a bit of self-doubt since his own parents didn’t seem to want to hang out with him, he thinks 'why should others?’

Besides boarding, he loves video games and has high skills in body and creativity.

He does his best at school but could do better. He doesn’t have a lot of direction in what he wants to do with his life but also, he’s still young and has time to find out.
