Of Plants & Players: Part I

Cecily and Miles are two singles ready to mingle, after a long absence from the dating scene.

PART I - THE DATE

Cecily Louis scored a date with Miles Piper via the 1st Annual Kashmire Bachelor Auction last year. They seemed to hit it off during the post-auction social hour with the complementary wine. They talked about a lot of random things but not really about themselves, ended up exchanging contact information and then parting ways. Scheduling complications kept making them put it off but now...it's time!

Cecily lives in a popular eco-friendly apartment in Memosa Bay. She loves living independently, after growing up in a house with her parents and three sisters, forced to wear specific colors. But that's a story for another time, it's not good for her stress-free meditation and morning yoga routine.

The apartment is outfitted with a small enclave made for this type of activity. After this, she will head off to work as a soil identifier in the lab downtown.

Her dog, Dexter, is a good boy. He likes hanging out on the apartment balcony, watching birds, and waiting for Mama to come home.

There's a convenient dog park next to the apartment and Cecily takes Dexter there after work. He loves his bath times with Mama.

Cecily appraises herself, she knows they are going to dinner uptown. She thinks to herself, 'Am I too gussied up for this?'

Dexter barks and she smiles at him through the mirror, "What's that? It's fine! Okay!"

She respects his opinion of her outfit.

And with that, Cecily is off to her date with Miles!

Miles Piper washes. He took a bath that morning but takes another one just in case. The day's sweat and stink have accumulated.

He throws on a nice vest and pants without holes. He's even wearing his fancy shoes! He might be overdoing it but he hasn't been on a date in a hot minute.

It's not that he dislikes datinghe's a pleasure sim, and he loves to go out, but he's also sort of introverted and his job has always been the priority.

He's lived in Memosa Bay since he graduated from University and is finally at the top of his career as a game designer. In fact, by living in this small space for all these years, he's saved enough to put a down payment on a house and is moving out tomorrow!

After that, he deems himself ready as he'll ever be for this date. He is on his way!

While waiting for a taxi, he has a moment to reflect on his past romancesnone of them were ever serious. How could they be when he viewed flings as a tool to chase down hits of pleasure?

In Uni he was a quick booty call for Sonata Hart. He knew she wasn't the serious type and didn't pursue anything with her. He has to make a small laugh because last he heard she was married with four kids.

Then, there was a brief few times he called upon Tia. She was an escort out of Pandora, so of course, there was nothing serious going on with her. It was all business. Eventually, his schedule got too hectic and he halted all services.

...then there was Eris, and while he did enjoy Eris's company there was no helping her fear of commitment. To be honest, he had a bit of it too.

But now facing down the barrel of being nearly 40, alone most nights, and about to move into his own house, he could see the appeal of having someone to really truly share it all with.

He takes Cecily to his second-favorite dining spot in Memosa Bay called 'Rock Star Dining'. Sometimes people would just get up and play on instruments at the center of the joint and it would be anyone's guess as to what the music would be.

Cecily likes talking. She has a very random ebb and flow of conversation but is always eloquent. But what really piques his interest is when she starts using video games as metaphors.

"My Soil Sample today was basically a purple-tier drop."

"Wait, by that do you mean it's pretty rare?"

"Yeah! I've only seen that level documented once or twice since I started!"

They are on the same level. They know about video game item drop rarity color coding.

"Wanna try some ribs?" Miles offers.

Cecily is down. She thinks they are tasty.

She also is down to have her hand held. It's like the next level on this date.

Full Hearts! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

Cecily has gone on dates before too. She always found some fault with them but something about the way conversation comes so easily and naturally with Miles is very attractive and not like pulling teeth. Dentist visits are the worst.

The worst.

"Well, this was fun. Let's do it again?" Miles offers, taking her hand for a goodbye handshake even though the chemistry he feels right now is positively electric. He has to stop himself from acting on it and jumping the gun. Everything in him just wants to stay near her and drown in her company all night.

"Yeah, sooner than later I hope," Cecily agrees and she snaps him forward by the hand that she's holding.

Then in a surprising move, she basically drags him on top of her in a passionate kiss. Apparently, he isn't the only one feeling this electricity. The fire jets for Rockstar Dining go off at the same moment so it's not only electric...

...but also really hot.

"Wow..." Miles is almost left without words as their lips part and searches over her face. There's a hint of a sly smile. Perhaps there is a chance he can drown in her company for the remainder of the night.

"I don't usually do this but...want to go back to my place?" Miles offers, and all intent is evident.

"I don't usually do this but...yes," she answers, knowing it.

To be fair, he really doesn't ask women back to his place after the first date but he happened to clean his apartment that day because he was moving out. How convenient.

They take a taxi back to his place, chatting and laughing the whole time, and peppered between are causal touches. He's missed that, and he's never felt so comfortable with someone before.

They unwind with some chess. Is that really unwinding? It's a great way to mentally prepare. Miles has to keep his King protected.

But finally, they lay back on his bed and cuddle, reminiscing about video games that they played when they were younger. Miles tells Cecily about his tree house at Three Lakes, Cecily tells Miles about her dog and the colors she was forced to wear as a kid. It's not very enticing info for this situation but the exchange is important.

At some point, talking is rendered unnecessary and MIles can't help to think this all escalated very quickly.

He is not usually an early riser but spends the rest of the night laying awake due to feeling so much buzz from being in Cecily's presence. Something won't let him sleep so he rises and is moved to make pancakes. He thought to surprise her with breakfast but she woke earlier than he anticipated.

"Wow, whatever you are making smells awesome!"

"Wow, you sure ate that fast," he notes.

"Well, it tasted bomb."

He simply smiles at her unique compliment.

He didn't really have enough mind to appreciate the small details before but notices Cecily has her navel pierced and adorned with shiny jewelry.

"I'm glad you loved the breakfast I made but I have to..."

"No worries, I need to get to work. I have some soil samples to catalog I didn't finish yesterday and I need to take my dog for a walk," Cecily cuts in before Miles can gently ask her to leave, though he really, really doesn't want to. He'd rather jump back into bed and do morning cuddles.

Well, that all went smoothly. It went amazingly great? He'd never had the time nor thought to make someone breakfast before and honestly he was a damn good cook. He had to learn because his parents weren't and he didn't want to eat bad-tasting food.

He spends a few hours at the laundromat, doing all his laundry and thinking about it. He's also reminded his new home has a washer and dryer so this is his last trip to a place like this.

When he returns he finds a single rose. He has to let out a small laugh because he was always the one leaving roses after dates before. When had she snuck by to give him this? Maybe when she was out walking her dog?

It's a good thing he is moving because the lock on the door is busted, and he'd just been lucky no strangers had broken in yet.

Miles spends the rest of the day packing up his apartment. He doesn't have a lot but knows with time he can fill out his new house. He can even look at buying a car!

Packing takes a lot out of him. Also, there is the fact he didn't get any sleep. When everything is in boxes he collapses on the floor and thinks more about Cecily and wonders if she would be interested in moving in with him? They seem to get along so well, and after all, it's gonna be a big, lonely house....
